I built this as a Workshop 1 project after noticing how much librarians still do by hand: writing down who borrowed what, chasing overdue books, and calculating late fines on paper. My goal was to take all of that off their plate. It's a console app written in C++ with a MySQL database underneath, and it gives Admins, Staff, and Students their own dedicated portal so each person only sees what's relevant to them.
What I Did
Designed the ERD and relational schema, then built the full CLI application solo, including role-based login for Admin, Staff and Student, book and member CRUD, borrow and return transactions with automatic fine calculation, and report generation, all with input validation and error handling throughout.
